  • Back Ground

Drummer, composer & bandleader, Bruno Duval, created the world jazz ensemble “Hope Project” in 2005. It gathered musicians coming from various countries and musical backgrounds, in the cross-border region located around Geneva, also known as the “Arc lémanique” (2). The cultural diversity of the area, Hope Project’s birthplace, led to original music creations and generated rich cultural exchanges between its former members and several guests. Led by Bruno Duval, Hope Project has lined up numerous live performances, pedagogical workshops and audiovisual recordings, showing proficiency and a major international dimension in France and Switzerland.

The World Village Association (WVA) is actually developing cross-border cultural activities in France and Switzerland in the surroundings of Geneva city. Pursuing its aims of promoting cultural exchange through artistic expression (music, dance, visual arts), the association runs a monthly World Village Social Club (concerts and jam sessions) in Geneva in partnership with the ASMV (3). WVA also organises music and photography workshops and master classes and is currently developing a recording studio project in France. Co-founded by Bruno Duval and Wolfram Klug (Head of Technology at FIBA (4)), WVA created a project commission and will started implementing an international artistic research, creation and production programme for “Caminos de Europa / Euro Pathways”, federating several artistic and structural partners in Europe.
